From Spring Flower Relays to Cool Summer Blooms – A Park to Enjoy Across Seasons

Spring at Hamamatsu Flower Park is known as the season of the “flower relay,” when the main attractions change one after another. It begins with wintersweet, plum blossoms, rapeseed flowers, and early-blooming cherry blossoms, followed by Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms, tulips, and double-flowered cherry blossoms, and continues with wisteria and spring roses.

Wisteria in particular is a highlight, with estimated blooming times provided for different varieties, including Yaezakura wisteria in mid to late April, Noda long-cluster wisteria in late April, and white wisteria in early May. Visitors can plan their visit based on which type of wisteria they wish to see.

After the peak of spring, the atmosphere of the park shifts to a more refreshing feel. In summer, seasonal flowers such as hydrangeas, irises, lotus flowers, and crape myrtle continue to bloom, offering a variety of floral scenery from the rainy season through midsummer.

The appeal of Hamamatsu Flower Park extends beyond its vast flower beds. The large greenhouse, which can be enjoyed regardless of the weather, and the carefully designed seasonal themed exhibitions are also major highlights. With spring showcasing vibrant colors and summer offering a cool, calming atmosphere, the combination of seasonal flowers and thoughtfully designed indoor displays allows visitors to experience the changing seasons with every step. No matter when you visit, you will be welcomed by a “best view” that can only be experienced in that moment.
From Autumn Roses to Camellias – A Quiet Floral Landscape with Winter Displays

From autumn to winter, the park offers a more subdued experience where visitors can appreciate the deepening of the seasons rather than vibrant displays. The transition from autumn roses and chrysanthemums to plants such as Farfugium, hibiscus, sasanqua, and camellias allows visitors to experience the gradual shift from autumn colors into the atmosphere of winter.
From September to January, admission is more affordable and includes a ¥200 shopping voucher that can be used within the park. This makes it even more enjoyable to take a break at a café and enjoy a warm drink during your visit.

During periods of nighttime opening, visitors can also enjoy winter illuminations. The transition from twilight into a softly lit evening creates a magical two-stage experience, offering one of the most luxurious ways to spend time at the park during the colder seasons.
Enjoy Dining as Part of Your Floral Experience

As you explore the expansive park, there are plenty of places where you can relax and take a break.

In addition to dishes such as pizza and pasta, the café also serves croissant sandwiches, light meals, and desserts, making it easy for families and groups to find something to enjoy. During the Golden Week period, white wisteria blooms above the terrace seating, allowing guests to enjoy a refined tea time surrounded by its elegant fragrance.

To conclude your visit, stop by the shop near the entrance. In addition to original sweets and goods, visitors can also purchase fresh flowers delivered by local producers at reasonable prices, allowing them to take home a piece of their floral experience and enrich their daily lives.
Play, Ride, and Walk Again – A Family-Friendly Active Park Experience

For families with young children, the children’s plaza within the park is a great attraction. It features a dinosaur slide, novelty bicycles, inflatable play equipment, and a Ferris wheel, allowing children to enjoy active play in between strolling through the flowers.
The rides, including the Ferris wheel and inflatable attractions, are affordably priced starting from ¥100, making them family-friendly and accessible.

More than just a flower viewing spot, Hamamatsu Flower Park is a place where families can enjoy a full day together. Its wide range of attractions and welcoming atmosphere are what make it beloved by visitors of all ages.
