Seasonal Scenic Walks – Nature and Ceramics in Harmony

One of the greatest attractions of Ceramic Park MINO is the harmony between its rich natural surroundings and its architecture and art.
In spring, the rare native Japanese flower Shidekobushi (Magnolia stellata) blooms across the landscape. Early summer brings fresh greenery and gentle breezes that embrace visitors. In summer, the shaded forest paths offer a cool retreat, perfect for pottery experiences or leisurely walks.
In autumn, the park is quietly transformed by vibrant reds and golds. Viewing the fall foliage through ceramic works feels like stepping into a living piece of art.

In winter, snow blankets the area, creating a serene white landscape where the ceramic buildings take on a dreamlike presence.
From walking paths and scenic viewpoints, visitors can take in the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the ever-changing sky—offering a quiet luxury unique to each season.
Here, the timeless beauty of craftsmanship meets the ever-changing expressions of nature, creating a space where both can be appreciated in peaceful harmony.
Choose, Use, and Enjoy – Bringing Ceramics into Everyday Life

Ceramic Park MINO offers a variety of ways to experience ceramic culture up close.
At the shop, you’ll find Mino ware alongside one-of-a-kind pieces created by local artists—ranging from tableware and cups to vases, accessories, and interior items. You can hold each piece in your hands, feel its texture and weight, and carefully choose something that fits your lifestyle.
The gallery space hosts seasonal exhibitions, showcasing the forefront of contemporary ceramics, primarily centered on Mino ware. From solo exhibitions by emerging artists to themed group exhibitions, visitors can explore the evolving expressions of modern ceramic art.

The on-site restaurant serves dishes made with seasonal ingredients from Gifu, beautifully presented on carefully selected Mino ware. This collaboration between food and ceramics creates a sensory dining experience.
(Open on Saturdays and Sundays only)
With opportunities to see, purchase, use, and savor ceramics, this space offers a complete and immersive introduction to incorporating art into daily life.
Create Your One-of-a-Kind Piece

At the popular “Pottery Studio,” visitors can create their own original Mino ware through hands-on experiences.
(General sessions available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only)
A wide variety of courses are available, making it easy for beginners to participate. From using a potter’s wheel for authentic creations to hand-building techniques and decorative painting, there are options suitable for all ages and skill levels.

Experienced instructors provide clear guidance on techniques and tools, ensuring a comfortable experience even for families with children or first-time participants.
Finished pieces are carefully fired in the on-site kiln and later delivered to your home. The moment you use your own handmade piece is truly special—turning everyday meals into something extraordinary. Many visitors also create pieces as meaningful gifts.
In addition to pottery experiences, workshops, seasonal programs, and family-friendly events are regularly held, offering something new with every visit.
More than just a craft activity, this is a chance to connect with the material, focus your mind, and spend meaningful time with yourself. Create a one-of-a-kind piece—and a lasting memory.
Where Tradition Meets Innovation

At the heart of Ceramic Park MINO lies the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu—one of Japan’s leading centers for contemporary ceramics.
Located in a region renowned for Mino ware, the museum showcases the fusion of traditional techniques and innovative expression, offering a glimpse into the future of ceramic art.
The permanent exhibition introduces the history and evolution of Mino ware, mainly through works by artists connected to Gifu. Even first-time visitors can easily follow the flow of exhibits, experiencing ceramics through seeing, learning, and feeling.
Masterpieces by Living National Treasures and leading contemporary artists quietly speak to the viewer’s sensibilities.
Special exhibitions feature bold, thematic works by ceramic artists from Japan and around the world, exploring new perspectives and pushing the boundaries between art, craft, and design.
In this space where tradition and innovation intersect, take your time to discover the profound depth of ceramic culture.
