The Asahigaoka Area, which occupies the right half of the park, consists of two zones: Sports and Adventure. It features a variety of playgrounds and athletic equipment where kids can engage in physical play. There are four major play areas: Bouken Hiroba, with a giant turf slide, a 48-meter-long large roller slide, and rope-climbing equipment; Yugu Hiroba, featuring unique playground equipment like the dragon-shaped “Dragon” and the funnel-shaped “Antlion”; Shibafu Hiroba, where kids can play freely on the grassy fields; and Undou Hiroba, perfect for cycling and ball games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who prefer a more relaxed experience, the Hiking Course offers leisurely walks along gentle forest paths. There are two courses, beginner and intermediate, where you can enjoy observing seasonal flowers and wild birds. Other features include Fuku-chan Hiroba, a rest area, and an observation deck offering views of the islands in Mikawa Bay and the mountains of Ise-Shima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yuhigaoka Area, occupying the left half of the park, is packed with play areas that even the youngest children can enjoy! There are two main play areas: Jiyuu Hiroba, a spacious area where children can run freely, play ball games, and enjoy gentle slides, playground equipment, and a sandbox\u2014fun for kids and adults alike. The other is Niji no Hiroba, a whimsical area filled with various sculptural elements, including rabbits, evoking a fairy-tale world where children can play on unique playground equipment and ring numerous bells. Additionally, there is an indoor facility, the Kids Room, featuring a ball pool, magnets, and other toys for babies, as well as the Wakuwaku Workshop, where parents and children can create their own original crafts using natural materials found in the park. These facilities ensure fun even on rainy days!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yuhigaoka also features an observation deck with panoramic views of Mikawa Bay, including Maejima and Okishima islands. It\u2019s also the only place where you can clearly see the “Tombolo phenomenon,” where normally separated land and islands are connected by the exposed seabed at low tide. Experience a Real Steam Locomotive and Other Rides!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aichi Kodomo no Kuni is famous for its steam locomotive, affectionately known as “Kodomo Kisha.” It’s one of the few places in Aichi Prefecture where you can ride a real, operational steam locomotive, which has been in operation since the park opened. The 1,135-meter-long route offers a panoramic view of Mikawa Bay National Park and Mount Sangane over a 7-minute ride, making it a popular attraction for both children and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park also offers various other rides, including a two-seater go-kart track approximately 500 meters long, allowing you to enjoy a real racing experience, as well as mini-cars modeled after fire trucks, buses, and other vehicles that kids can drive themselves. To make getting around the large grounds easier, there\u2019s also a land train connecting the Asahigaoka and Yuhigaoka areas, as well as a shuttle service on weekdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camping for Everyone, from Beginners to Experienced Campers!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aichi Kodomo no Kuni offers both day and overnight camping. For day campers, you can enjoy a barbecue using the campsite facilities, which are available for families, groups of friends, children\u2019s clubs, and even corporate groups. For overnight campers, the park provides permanent tents for those who don\u2019t have their own tents or aren\u2019t confident in setting one up. Camping and cooking equipment rentals and sales are also available, making it easy for beginners to enjoy camping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
