Little World consists of the “Main Exhibition Hall” and the “Outdoor Exhibit Area.” The Main Exhibition Hall features a grand exhibition space with about 6,000 ethnic artifacts displayed. A tapestry made from fabrics from around the world hangs prominently in the main hall at the front of the exhibition room. The sub-hall gathers faces of about 300 people from around the world, from children to the elderly, all in one place. The exhibition hall is divided into five rooms dedicated to evolution, technology, language, society, and values, each showcasing a rich collection of ethnic artifacts. All items are, or were, used in daily life. By reading the descriptions and observing closely, you can challenge yourself to make new discoveries and gain a deeper understanding of the diverse wisdoms of life from different regions through various objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Outdoor Exhibit Area features buildings from various countries, either relocated from their original sites or reconstructed. Not only houses but also tents and temples are displayed. There is also a Japanese area where you can explore three regions: Okinawa Prefecture, Hokkaido, and Yamagata Prefecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience a globally curated menu from various countries! At all 14 stores located throughout the facility, you can explore the world’s cultures through food. Seasonal themed offerings such as “World Bread Festival” and “World Meat Gourmet” are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “World Bazaar” area includes souvenir shops, a caf\u00e9, and a kids’ space, allowing families to enjoy their meals and relax together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, in the “Outdoor Exhibit Area,” you can taste dishes from the countries featured in each area, including well-loved cuisines in Japan like German, French, Italian, Indian, and Korean, as well as the rapidly gaining popularity of Indonesian cuisine and one of the world’s three great cuisines, Turkish. There are also shops offering rare cuisines in Japan, such as Latin American and ethnic foods, making Little World unique in its offering to enjoy a variety of global menus in one visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, representing Japan, there are two shops: “Taste of Okinawa Menso-re,” which serves Okinawan celebratory sweets like Sata Andagi, Okinawa soba, guava juice, and products made with Agu pork, and “Taste of Tohoku Zao” that offers popular gourmet options like power konnyaku and sweet-sour cherry soft cream. Both allow you to enjoy these treats while leisurely sitting on an engawa (veranda).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After observing “living” spaces in the exhibition hall and savoring “food” in the dining areas, head over to the “Outdoor Exhibit Area” to indulge in the popular ethnic costume experience! Little World offers ten spots where you can try on traditional garments, available in children’s sizes and even in matching sets for couples or friends, making it a fun activity for groups, families, or pairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The costume experience includes options from dramas and films, such as the “Chima Jeogori” (Korean), “Sari” (Indian), and “Mariachi” (Mexican) outfits, to those that immerse you in the worlds of fairy tales and stories like “Fairytale costumes,” “French fairytale outfits,” and “Romeo and Juliet” attire. You can also try on traditional outfits like the Alsatian dress from France or a Peruvian poncho, representing various global traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, check out unique and rare costumes such as the “Ndebele tribal dress” from South Africa and “Turkish national dress,” which are hard to experience without visiting these countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be sure to visit the various souvenir shops onboard before you leave! We boast a wide selection of global sweets, handicrafts, and traditional arts. We also sell ready-to-eat global dishes like “Shkmeruli,” so you can enjoy international flavors at home too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Especially recommended are three shops: the “Museum Shop,” “Alsatian Wine and Cheese Shop,” and “Turkish Souvenir Shop Laale.” Let’s highlight some must-see items from these recommended shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, the “Museum Shop” located on the first floor of the Main Exhibition Hall features the “World Feast Museum,” where you can easily enjoy rare global dishes in ready-to-eat form. This includes exotic ingredients like crocodile and kangaroo, allowing you to enjoy diverse dishes at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, at the “Alsatian Wine and Cheese Shop” in the European area of the Outdoor Exhibit Area, the “Original Pinot Blanc” comes highly recommended. This wine is specially produced by the renowned “Metz-Lowell” company, representing the acclaimed wine region of Alsace, France, and is offered as an exclusive product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, in the Turkish area of the Outdoor Exhibit Area, the “Turkish Souvenir Shop Laale” recommends the “Aladdin Lamp.” This beautiful lamp, shaped like the one from the story, not only looks stunning but also fits perfectly as home decor. Who knows, maybe rubbing it might summon a genie!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
